The Good News
What is the Good News? The Good News is that "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting mens sins against them" (2 Corinthians 5:19). It means that God is ready to dismiss all the sins you have ever committed, He is ready to wipe them out and give you a clean slate. It really is a wonderful thing to think that God has made a way to entirely cancel out all of our sins, our moral failures, and our mistakes so that we can have a relationship with God.
This is a special limited "offer" for all of those who come to God with faith and believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins. A lot of people assume that since God is good then He is prepared to dismiss all of our mistakes without our being sorry for them, even if we don't really regret them, if we are continuing to commit them, and even if we do not really believe that Jesus paid the price for them. This is not true. You see, God is good but He is also just and Holy - fiercely Holy! The bible states that our God is like a consuming fire He is so Holy. And in order for God to be loving he must also be just. This means that he has to judge the bad things people do to each other and their rejection of Him.
And why would Jesus have to pay a price for sins any way? What is the price? And who demands it? The price was paid in his life and in his blood. His life and blood was demanded by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in atonement for the sins of mankind. You see, God's law states that "the soul that sins shall die". The reason this pronouncement was made a long time ago was because God did not want sin to multiply upon the earth and pollute mankind, destroying the image of God within us, and causing a fatal separation in intimate fellowship with God. God sent His son to restore the breach in our relationship with God, remove the barrier of judgment that sins creates, and restore human nature to it's divine condition - to heal in us the very image of God.
We want you to know that God loves you more than you know and want's desperately to have a relationship with you. God's will for your life is that you enter a state of blessedness in this life - even in the face of trials and tribulations - and that you will ultimately be raised to a state of eternal life and holy ecstasy in Christ.
If you have not made Christ your savior, if your soul is troubled and in pain, please give us a call or come and visit. You can make an appointment with one of the clergy who will pray with you. God Bless you!
